There is something
for everyone to do or see in North Yorkshire. Wrelton near Pickering is only a short drive
from many top attractions, historic buildings,
moorland and forest walks and the lovely beaches
at Whitby, Scarborough and Filey. The compact
village of Wrelton is by-passed by the main road
(A 170) from Helmsley to Pickering. During the
1st century AD, a Roman road must have been
built near here, leading to the Cawthorn Roman
Camps which are located two miles to the
north-north-east of the village. The earthworks
of these camps have survived and are open to the
public.
